From head-trained vines planted in 1968, this Zin balances Old Vine power (15.2% ABV) with freshness. Opaque purple, it offers a kaleidoscopic nose: blackberry liqueur, star anise, cured tobacco, and lavender. The palate delivers blueberry pie, dark roast coffee, and a peppery kick. Wine Enthusiast (94 pts) praises its "iron fist in velvet glove" texture. Best with smoked brisket (2024–2032).
