The 2022 Jérôme Galeyrand Fixin Rouge "Champs de Vosger" is a Pinot Noir from a 0.18-hectare plot planted in 1980, located at the bottom of a slope with sandy soil and alluvial pebbles. The wine is organically and biodynamically farmed and undergoes natural winemaking practices, with no added SO2, 15-20% whole cluster fermentation, and aging for 12-16 months in barrels (20% new). It is lightly filtered and has 30-45 ppm of SO2 at bottling. The wine displays aromas of red fruits like raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries, along with floral notes of orange blossom and violet. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky tannins, succulent acidity, and flavors of licorice, tarragon, and fine fruit. The wine is approachable, fresh, and light-footed, making it an ideal pairing with almost any food, especially roasted chicken, fish, terrines, pâtés, charcuterie, and grilled green vegetables like asparagus.
