From Keenan's steep, terraced vineyards at 1,700 ft elevation, this Cabernet is mountain wine at its finest. Opaque purple with ruby edges, it offers a brooding nose of blackberry, crushed rock, and a touch of cedar. The palate is powerful yet refined - flavors of black currant, dark chocolate, and firm tannins suggest excellent aging potential. Antonio Galloni (96 pts) recommends "cellaring until 2028+ or decanting 4 hours now for braised short ribs." 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 20 months in 75% new French oak.
