Martin Woods Koosah Pinot Noir '21

From a high-elevation site in the Eola-Amity Hills, this single-vineyard Pinot shows translucent ruby color with a nose of wild strawberry, rose petal, and crushed basalt. The palate is elegant yet intense - flavors of cranberry, blood orange, and sous bois unfold across silky tannins, with acidity that Wine Advocate (94 pts) calls "nearly Burgundian in its cut." Aged 16 months in 25% new François Frères barrels, it's drinking beautifully now but will evolve through 2030. Pair with tea-smoked duck or wild mushroom risotto. The 2021 vintage's cool growing season (harvested October 15th) preserved remarkable freshness.
