From the legendary Pisoni Vineyard's oldest block (planted 1982), this Pinot Noir is translucent garnet with rose-gold edges—a visual prelude to its ethereal character. The nose perfumes the air with wild strawberry, rose petal, fresh truffle, and a whisper of star anise from 18 months in François Frères barrels (30% new). On the palate, it's weightless yet intense—flavors of blood orange, pomegranate molasses, and sous bois glide across silk-textured tannins, with acidity that Wine Advocate (96 pts) describes as "a high-wire act of power and precision." The 2018 vintage's cool finish (harvested October 12th) lends exceptional freshness, suggesting drinking window 2024–2038. Serve in large Burgundy stems with tea-smoked duck or chanterelle mushroom tart. 150 magnums made.
